Belgrades: Balestra designs the costumes for Rossini’s Cinderella

Renato Balestra designed for the first time in 1998 the costumes for the Cinderella of Gioacchino Rossini for the Belgrades National Theatre.

The Opera with Balestra’s costumes was staged on April 25th for the anniversary of the foundation of the National Opera Theater.

The show, which celebrates the 20th anniversary of the first performance this year, is considered to be the most successful in the history of the Serbian Theater; a more than perfect evening that saw the city of Belgrade pay homage to Renato Balestra.

During the evening, 22 creations of Haute Couture were also shown, accompanied by the wonderful voice of the international opera singer Jadranka Jovanović.

The Serbian singer, an artist and a woman of great charm and remarkable stage mastery, has enhanced at best the creations of Balestra. Clothes in which luxury and sartorial tradition blend with the needs and styles of modern life.

The evening ended with a great exhibition of the sketches of the Cinderella’s costumes made by Renato Balestra.
