Be Blue Be Balestra 2017

Homage to Renato Balestra

In collaboration with the 2017 Talents of the Accademia Costume & Moda

At its third edition, BE BLUE BE BALESTRA sees once again the students of the Accademia Costume & Moda of Rome. This time, ten are the young talents selected from the Masters of High Fashion and Accessories, which Renato Balestra has offered his historical experience.
Tradition and experimentation merge under the direction of Renato Balestra. Thanks to his great experience he led the students, offering them creative support and helping them realize their ideas by following all the design phases and by putting the students in contact with the working reality they are about to join.

Tradition and innovation are the words behind the work of these ten talented students, Vasiliky Grammenou, Nikita Jayakumar, Alessia Russo, Maria Luisa Carella, Violeta Campana, Simona Cupido, Elena Teuolde, Riccardo Guidi, Li Kexuan, Valeria Magistro. Following their own style, they have reinterpreted the aesthetic codes of the Balestra Maison.
The jury of experts was composed by Silvia Venturini Fendi (Chairman of Altaroma), Sara Maino (Vogue Italia’s Senior Editor and Vogue Talents), Clara Tosi Pamphili (Curator of AI Artisanal Intelligence), Barbara Modesti (TG1 Journalist), Angelo Ruggeri (MF Fashion Journalist), Marco Ferra (International Stylist), Maria Vittoria Cosumano (Blogger) and Cinzia di Pio (Relationship Director of the Arab Fashion Council)

The winners of this edition were the Greek designer Vasiliki Grammenou for Fashion category and the Chinese student Li Kexuan for Accessories. Thanks to the contribution of the Arab Fashion Council, Vasiliky Grammenou will have the opportunity to exhibit her creation during the Arab Fashion Week in Dubai this November.
